Hope for Haiti

My first trip to Haiti was back in the summer of 2003.  I had become friends with a guy whose family had been ministering there for over twenty years and he invited me to go.

What I saw and experienced there that week completely changed my life – and ministry.  My heart broke as I walked through the villages and witnessed first-hand the abject poverty of how these families lived.  I simply could not comprehend the abject poverty right in front of me, and it was all just a few hours from the coast of Florida.  Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere and there is more voodoo in Haiti than any other country in the world.

Upon my return to the states, I formed a partnership with New Missions – the ministry that has been feeding, clothing and educating the Haitian families of the Leogane Plain since 1982.  Being a part of New Missions and what they’re doing has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my ministry.  Not only am I helping to change the lives of the people in Haiti, but I am seeing God transform me as well.

Thank you for your heart for missions and God’s people.  May we continue to live out God’s love to others in a way that makes a life-changing difference.  Please consider sponsoring a child or joining me on a week long trip with us to visit New Missions in the Leogane Plain.  It’s too close to ignore, and I promise you will never see this world in the same way.
